The New House

Here they are, the new house and the new blog. Martini Flats is the successor to The Fightingtown Creek Experiment (link to that archived blog to the right). Elizabeth (e) and I came up with Martini Flats in an email conversation while I was working in Atlanta and she was still at Moonshine Lodge. It might not survive as the name of the house, but it's going to be pretty hard to change, now that I have started the blog.

Well I guess "Martini Flats" is official. At least we have a common thread with all our homes . . . alchohol.

Martini….a gin or vodka cocktail.
Flats…a broad treeless plain; something squashed; an English apartment; lacking in interest , taste or excitement; fixed unvarying or absolute; a broad surface with little depth; deflated; unmodulated; monotonous; lacking in tint or shading.
I like the contrast. Let me know when the bar is open?

We are moving from Moonshine Lodge in the North Georgia mountains to the flatlands of Atlanta. So your first definition is appropriate.

We plan to replace that flag in the pic with one with an olive green background and a martini-glass subject. When that flies, come on over.

Looks like a doll house! Awesome outdoor living possibilities with pergola and deck... and a masterbedroom at tree canopy level. Martiniflats sounds better than MintJulepSlough. Hope you enjoy it!
